Chapter 5 · Workflows

5.11Wind and Other Forces

To blow the cloth with a Wind:

  1. Create a Wind space warp and aim it at the cloth. Strength 1.0 pushes about as hard as gravity pulls.
  2. Add Tnpix Forces to the cloth (share one instance across a Solver group, or give each garment its own), click Add and pick the Wind.
  3. Play. Animate the Wind's Strength for gusts; raise Turbulence (and then Frequency) for flutter.

Clear a warp's check box in the list to mute it without removing it, and use the modifier's Strength to scale every warp together.

To push only part of a garment, a sleeve or a hem, paint a channel over it with Tnpix Channel and pick that channel in the Forces' Channel list: each point is pushed by its painted weight, and the rest of the garment follows through the cloth.
