Chapter 6 · Troubleshooting

6.3Reporting a Problem

When you report a problem, include:

  • the build number from the About window, and your 3ds Max version;
  • the modifier stack of the cloth, from top to bottom, and whether Self Collision was on;
  • the scene file (.max) or a link to it. A scene that shows the problem is the fastest route to a fix, because the simulation repeats exactly.

Send the report to ar2sun3d@gmail.com.

Copy the TenPix lines from the MAXScript Listener into the report as well.

The TenPix lines in the Listener

TenPix writes short lines to the MAXScript Listener as it works: a note when a cache is saved or a material is opened on a changed setting, a warning when a demo limit holds the simulation or a collider is gone or changes its point count, and an error when a cache cannot be saved. Each line starts with TenPix and names the garment or the collider it is about.
