5.2Setting Up a Solver Group in the Graph

The TenPix Graph (see The TenPix Graph in Chapter 2) puts every garment of a Solver group and all their settings in one place. A typical outfit:

  1. Select the garments and add one Tnpix Solver to the selection in the Modify panel. It is one modifier the garments share, so together they form a Solver group.
  2. On the Solver panel press Graph. The Solver group opens with each garment as a column.
  3. Right-click in the graph and choose Add to all N objects ▸ Gravity, then Collision and Self Collision the same way. Each is one modifier all the garments share, drawn as a bar across the Solver group.
  4. Click the Collision bar, press + Pick object in its list and click the body in a viewport; right-click to stop. Click the body's row to set its thickness and friction.
  5. Click a garment's box, choose Material Standard under Add a modifier, tick the garments of the same fabric and press Add. Click the new box and set its fabric.
  6. Add a Tnpix Channel, Pin, Stitch or Tear the same way, or from the right-click menu, where a garment needs one, and paint its channels on the Tnpix Channel panel as usual. Drag a box up or down to change its place in the stack.
  7. Where one garment should differ, click the shared modifier and use Make unique... for it.
  8. To bring another garment into the Solver group, select it in a viewport and press + Add object.
  9. Play. Any step can be taken back with Ctrl+Z.
