NewTenPix Cloth is here

Simulation tools for 3D artists.

10pix studio makes CFX tools for VFX and 3D artists. Our first release, TenPix Cloth, brings GPU cloth simulation to Autodesk 3ds Max.

TenPix Cloth

Cloth that behaves like cloth.

TenPix Cloth works as a set of modifiers: add them to a mesh the way you would add Bend or Skin, play the timeline, and the cloth is simulated on your NVIDIA graphics card. Built for production garment and fabric work.

  • GPU solver

The whole solve runs on the graphics card, so dense garments stay interactive.

  • True-geometry collision

Cloth collides with the collider's actual triangles and rests on the shape you modelled.

  • Self collision & layers

Folds don't pass through themselves, and layer order decides which garment gives way.

  • Fabric materials

Twelve stock fabrics, the full fabric model, and presets you can save and load.

  • Caching & finishing

Cache to TenPix or Alembic, retime, smooth, render with motion blur and wrap a high-res mesh.

Collision

Dress any character

The default collision system uses the collider's actual triangles, so cloth rests on the shape you modelled. Every collider has its own thickness, friction and grip, and self collision keeps folds and layered garments apart.

Dressing a character

Pins, seams & tearing

Pin it. Sew it. Tear it.

Pin cloth to animated objects, stitch garments together or to themselves, and tear along painted regions, by stretch or by pressure, including a freehand tear brush.

Pinning and letting go

Soft bodies (experimental)

Fat, jelly and muscle

Tnpix Soft Body turns a closed object into soft flesh that wobbles, keeps its volume and collides with the cloth, in the same simulation. Paint which parts of a character jiggle and which follow its animation, or give it fibres between two bones for a simple muscle that contracts and bulges.

Caching & finishing

From simulation to render

Record the simulation to a TenPix cache or to Alembic, retime and posterize it, smooth it with Delta Mush, render it with motion blur, and drive a high-resolution mesh from the simulated one with Tnpix Wrap. Caches can be recorded on a Deadline render farm.

Getting startedTenPix Cloth

Install and activate TenPix Cloth

Install the plug-in and the toolbar, check your build number and activate your licence.

Let's go!

The demo simulates up to 25,000 vertices in the scene for the first 100 frames of the animation. Everything else works as in the licensed product.
